Position Description

Position: China Technical Project Manager
Reporting to (position): Global Programme Manager
Division: Retail Automation
Location: Beijing China

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for managing projects emanating from China and being the interface between customers, partners and foreign teams.
Key position to manage delivery of solutions into the China market

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· To ensure the successful management of Projects and Solution delivery across teams.
· Liaise closely with the customer and their technical team in defining the requirements.
· Liaise closely with Company’s Lead Architects in defining Functional Specifications.
· Build strong working relationships with the development and implementation Project Director, Project Managers, Team Members and Team Leaders during the course of Projects.
· To build a high level of trust and service with the customer that ensures the geographic distance is invisible
· To provide total project transparency to the senior management team on all aspects of the project in regards to the progress, cost, risks and issues confronting the project
· To provide assistance to Business Analysts and Business Development Managers in developing Business cases and feasibility studies in support of pre-sales activities or research and development Projects.
· To provide focal point for project delivery under guidance of the Company’s Project Office.
· Project Office member.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential:
5 years within projects environment, desirable Pre Sales or consultancy
Mandarin and English language, desirable Cantonese
Strong technical background
Previous business analysis experience
Tertiary educated and strong project management qualifications / experience
Strong customer-oriented delivery focus
Good analytical, projects logistic and resolution skills
Strong written, verbal, presentation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Strong work ethic
Good communication skills

EXPERIENCE

Essential:
Successful track record in project governance of external consultants and project teams.
The ability to manage projects across multiple companies, cultures and time zones
Can demonstrate a successful track record of management and delivery of projects, desirable Previous experience in development and implementation of payment systems.
Very strong written, verbal, presentation, communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Strong internal customer delivery capability
The ability to form trusting relationships with different cultures
Very good team management and mentoring skills
Successful track record of management and delivery of projects involving external suppliers and project teams
Ability to motivate, generate respect and influence both vertically and horizontally
